Hydro Shield will get your boat on plane faster, allowing you to remain on plane at lower speeds and rpm's. It also improves handling and lowers your fuel burn at low and cruising RPM settings. Hydro-Shield will also protect your propeller from damage due to underwater impacts, and its 316th's marine grade stainless steel bracket system acts as a skeg guard, strengthening and reinforcing the skeg.
Made from an energy-absorbing plastic compound, Hydro Shield can withstand impacts, natural or man-made. Even if your boat strikes natural hazards like rocks, coral, oyster beds, or sandbars, or man-made hazards like lobster and crab pots, Hydro Shield maintains its integrity and protects your prop and skeg.

I’m disappointed about my purchase, I install it accordingly to the instructions and my boat can’t go on the step with it to much drag I guess.
Eric, we're sorry you did not reach out to us if you are not getting on plane significantly faster, as that would be a result of an alignment issue which can generally be addressed without having to touch the skeg. We are more than happy to assist in getting your Hydro-Shield aligned correctly if you would like , so please advise if you would like assistance as we do not want to aggravate you given you did not reach out to us on the support number in the installation guide and on the key chain. Fitted hydro shield to my seamaster fitted with a 115 mercury
Engine the boat planes so much faster and handles incredible
Still trying it out . When on plane I was limited to about 1/2 what the trim should allow before the boat started porpoising . Now when on plane I can trim past the trailer trim . You can feel the boat coming out of the water for an extremely smooth ride . Very impressed with the improvement.
I bought this out of desperation for a cure to hitting rock bottom on Lake Buchanan, TX. But the extra lift in acceleration was beyond my expectations! This added feature to my boat exceeded all expectations and reviews from other boaters 🤗
