Hydro Shield will get your boat on plane faster, allowing you to remain on plane at lower speeds and rpm's. It also improves handling and lowers your fuel burn at low and cruising RPM settings. Hydro-Shield will also protect your propeller from damage due to underwater impacts, and its 316th's marine grade stainless steel bracket system acts as a skeg guard, strengthening and reinforcing the skeg.
Made from an energy-absorbing plastic compound, Hydro Shield can withstand impacts, natural or man-made. Even if your boat strikes natural hazards like rocks, coral, oyster beds, or sandbars, or man-made hazards like lobster and crab pots, Hydro Shield maintains its integrity and protects your prop and skeg.

Going up the river at unknown depth which got to 3’ this gave me a little ease of some protection. It seem to plan out fast as well. Was easy to install.
I fish in shallow water and around pesky cab pots. This has saved me already. I need more for prop protection then anything else. This will do it.
Très bon produit
A great invention to stop damage to the Prop,
Will fit as soon as my new boat arrives..
Good morning. I was able to test the installation of my hydro shield. I will have to have a conversation with a hydro shield expert as I lost about 5mph. I may have the out board mounted to high. The cavatation plate is about 1/2” higher than bottom of the boat. Also the instructions indicated 3/4” min. Clearance from prop to shield. I have about 1 1/4” clearance. Let me know what you think. Boat handles very nice just went from 22 mph to 15-17mph.
Mark, thank you for your review and based on your comments, it sounds like there is an alignment issue. If you can send pictures of your A and D measurement (so we can see the actual measurements as well as where they are being taken) as well as the measurement from the pro to the foil, as well as the make and HP of your outboard, we will respond back with how to adjust the foil which can generally get done without touching the skeg. My email is dmmacdonald@hydro-shield.com. Please advise and we will respond back with how to correct the alignment. All the best and safe boating, Dale
