Hydro Shield will get your boat on plane faster, allowing you to remain on plane at lower speeds and rpm's. It also improves handling and lowers your fuel burn at low and cruising RPM settings. Hydro-Shield will also protect your propeller from damage due to underwater impacts, and its 316th's marine grade stainless steel bracket system acts as a skeg guard, strengthening and reinforcing the skeg.
Made from an energy-absorbing plastic compound, Hydro Shield can withstand impacts, natural or man-made. Even if your boat strikes natural hazards like rocks, coral, oyster beds, or sandbars, or man-made hazards like lobster and crab pots, Hydro Shield maintains its integrity and protects your prop and skeg.

Easy to install, read and understand before starting! Hardest part was getting the clamp to hold it in position for drilling {used two clamps with softer pads that didn't" slip}, after drilling first hole, alignment was easy. Bolts were trimmed down to allow for better water flow {idea...maybe a type of streamline caps to fit/snap on bolts heads?} Have not put in water yet { Hurricane Erwin), but will shortly!!
Works very good to get on plane!
Purchased the Hydro Shield for my 16ft Larson with a 75hp Evinrude and despite being a bit skeptical of what I was buying after my first outing with it installed I honestly couldn’t be happier with it. The boat already had come up on plane quite quickly and it improved drastically and I also increased my top end speed by 7 kph when the trim was dialled in.
