Hydro Shield will get your boat on plane faster, allowing you to remain on plane at lower speeds and rpm's. It also improves handling and lowers your fuel burn at low and cruising RPM settings. Hydro-Shield will also protect your propeller from damage due to underwater impacts, and its 316th's marine grade stainless steel bracket system acts as a skeg guard, strengthening and reinforcing the skeg.

Good morning. I was able to test the installation of my hydro shield. I will have to have a conversation with a hydro shield expert as I lost about 5mph. I may have the out board mounted to high. The cavatation plate is about 1/2” higher than bottom of the boat. Also the instructions indicated 3/4” min. Clearance from prop to shield. I have about 1 1/4” clearance. Let me know what you think. Boat handles very nice just went from 22 mph to 15-17mph.
At the time of this review, April 21, ‘26, my “new to me” motor is on a stand still in my warm shop! BUT, I did manage to install my new hydro-shield. And installation was a breeze! Just follow the well written instructions, not Chinese hieroglyphics!! Install took about 45 minutes. Cause I am a firm believer in “measure twice, cut once”!! Def recommend this product!
Great product
All good with ordering product online and just about to install the Hydro Shield for usage this summer. I really like the Hydro Shield protection of my prop in shallow water areas and looking forward to see/test if product produces or allows boat to planes up faster with less petrol usage.
